PURPOSE:An enteric pharmaceutical of a beta-lactam antibiotic substance composition containing an oral absorption promoter. CONSTITUTION:An oral drug pharmaceutical obtained by formulating a beta-lactam antibiotic substance, e.g. a penicillin compound such as ampicillin or amoxicillin or a cephalosporin compound such as cefazolin or cephapirin, containing an oral absorption promoter, e.g. malic acid, citric acid, salicylic acid, etc., preferably sucrose ester of a fatty acid into an enteric state. The diffusion and dilution in the stomach caused by the oral administration are suppressed, and the absorption promoter and the drug present in a high concentration in the small intestine provide remarkable effect. The method for making the substance enteric can be carried out by forming the substance into fine granules or granules, if necessary tableting them into tablets, and coating the surfaces thereof with an enteric coating material soluble at 5.0-7.0pH to give the aimed pharmaceutic.
