Electronic monitoring device for indicating the level of liquid in a receptacle. It comprises means for detecting the level of water; these means are connected to a battery-powered electric circuit; the said circuit activates an alarm 7; the complete device is contained inside a housing 1 which is suspended over the edge 2 of the bath tub 3 by means of a hook 4; and a plug connects up the external probe which detects the level of the water by means of the electrodes. The invention enables the desired height of water in a bath tub to be monitored. <IMAGE>
