PURPOSE:To check the room temperature drop during defrosting by a constitution wherein the defrosting operation is started at the room temperature, which is arrived by raising the set temperature by the predetermined temperature and performing the heating operation through the differential being made smaller than the predetermined temperature. CONSTITUTION:When the defrosting signal B is outputted from a defrosting signal generator circuit 5, the set temperature 2 is raised by the predetermined temperature (t) and the differential 4 is changed to B', which is smaller than the predetermined temperature (t). Accordingly, the compressor ON-OFF signal A sent from a comparator 3 goes to the high level. A defrosting operation signal C, which passes through a flip-flop 8 and an AND circuit 9, remains its low level, resulting in remaining a relay 14 in the OFF state and consequently running on the heating operation. When the elevated set temperature is reached, the signal A goes to the low level, resulting in the defrosting operation signal C reaching the high level and starting the defrosting operation. Thus, because the defrosting is performed after the room temperature is elevated, the difference between the room temperature and the set temperature can be made smaller.
