PURPOSE:To shift smoothly to speed change stage, in a hydraulic controller for automatic speed changer of car comprised of a multi-stage speed change gear employing a hydraulic servo, by providing a pressure drop regulating mechanism for hydraulic servo for regulating the release timing of friction engaging element. CONSTITUTION:Hydraulic controller 100 for automatic speed changer is comprised of hydraulic pressure regulator 103, solenoid valves S1-S4 for maintaining/discharging the hydraulic pressure, friction engaging system or clutch, brake, hydraulic servo C-1-C-2, B-1-B-3, boost regulating mechanism 400 for hydraulic servo and pressure drop regulating mechanism 500 for hydraulic servo for regulating the speed of discharge pressure from each hydraulic servo thus regulating the release timing of friction engaging element. Consequently, an unilateral clutch is not required to achieve smooth rising of supply oil pressure from each hydraulic servo through said mechanism 500 comprising single manual valve, oil path changeover valve and solenoid valve.
