Blower or ventilator for generator

The axle (2) of a generator (1) is driven by a V-belt (5) from a heat engine and carries also a cooling turbine (4) for the heat engine, with blades (6). The cooling turbine (4) produces a cooling stream of air which surrounds the generator (1) and then is guided towards the heat engine. An essential part of the cooling device is a suction cover (12), mounted on one side of the generator (1) opposite to the turbine (4). An outer portion (15) of the cover projects into the stream of air (7) produced by the turbine (4) and is suitably ring-formed to deflect part of the cooling air around the generator (1). It is fastened by bolts (16) to the turbine casing (4) and the turbine itself is attached by bolts (10) to the projecting flange (9) of the generator (1). Alternatively the suction cover is made as an integral part of the generator housing.
