PURPOSE:To reduce the heat shock by a constitution wherein the capacity of a compressor is lowered with the decrease of the difference between the room temperature and the set temperature during heating and the lowering of the capacity of the compressor is stopped when the room temperature equals to the set temperature and the restarting by a compressor ON signal is checked during the predetermined while. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, the difference between the room temperature 1 and the set temperature 2 is calculated at a calculating means 7. Secondly, a compressor capacity corresponding to said temperature difference is selected out of the stepwise compressor capacities stored in a memory part 8. Thirdly, the compressor capacity is lowered so as to make the temperature difference further smaller in order to operate the compressor 19 under the state that the temperature difference is zero. When the temperature difference becomes zero, a compressor capacity controller 16 is turned OFF and a heating timer 13 is put into drive mode and the compressor OFF information is memorized in a memory part 9. Even when the room temperature lowers and consequently a control means 10 outputs a compressor ON signal during the time when the timer 13 is on action, the compressor 9 keeps its standstill state based upon the compressor OFF information in the memory part 9. After the action of the timer 13 is over, the output check 14 is released by an output check releasing means 15 and the compressor 9 is started again. Thus, the heat shock during heating is prevented from occurring.
