PURPOSE:To execute good curving work at any time by heating and softening a direct tube type bulb while both ends are being held by a chuck and retained almost horizontally and extending it in desired lengths. CONSTITUTION:The gap between guide rails 15a and 15b that regulates the running direction of first and second conveyor bodies 11a and 11b in the section that runs along a roller conveyor 7 is arranged so that the running lines La and Lb of a pair of opposed chucks 13a and 13b can spread gradually from D and reach D+DELTAd finally. While a direct tube type bulb is being heated and softened rotating in a heating furnace, the chucks 13a and 13b on both ends are hooked in recesses 16 and 16 and stretched gradually in the axial direction, that is, stretched accurately only for desired amount DELTAd.
