PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply restart electric discharge machining, by automatically memorizing a point where an electrode wire is broken upon breakage of the wire electrode, moving the wire electrode to a machining start point, and by automatically moving the wire electrode to the position where the electrode wire is broken, after correction of wiring breakage. CONSTITUTION:When a wire electrode 12 is broken during electric discharge machining, a wire breakage detecting switch 14 turns off a switch on the machining power source control panel 8 of a control board B, and the co-ordinates of a point where the wire electrode 12 is broken, and a machining conditions at that time are stored in a memory 16. When a start switch 5 is depressed, a worktable 6 or the wire electrode 12 is moved to a point where the machining is started. After correction of wire breakage the start switch 5 is again depressed, the switch on the machining power source panel 8 is turned on so that the wire electrode 12 is moved to the wire breakage position along an electric discharge machining locus. When the wire electrode 12 approaches the breakage position, an electric discharge machining switch is turned on so that the electric discharge machining is restarted in the machining condition upon wire breakage, stored in the memory 15. |
