Book cleaning apparatus, comprised of a substantially plane guiding track (16) of at least one cleaning roll (9) which is pivotingly drivable and projects above the surface of the guiding track, as well as an application roll (11) for a cleaning product. The technical problem is the fabrication of a book cleaning apparatus enabling to perfom the cleaning of outer surfaces of books covered with sheets in a quicker, more efficient, diffential and careful way. The guiding track (16) comprises longitudinal channels (15) and at least one lateral guide (17) for hand-sliding the books on said guiding track. The application roll (11) and the cleaning roll (9) pass each through a transversal opening (19, 20) provided in the guiding track (16). The application roll (11) operates with a rinsing product bath (6) and the cleaning roll (9) with a rinsing product bath (24). Longitudinal guiding elements (21) span the transversal openings.
