PURPOSE:To enable continuous and efficient working of a stretching film material to a film by using a uniaxially stretched plastic film of which the optical axis inclines 45 deg. with the take-up direction. CONSTITUTION:Transparent films 5, oriented films 6 and a liquid crystal 7 are provided between the upper and lower panel plates superposed and adhered with polarizing plates 1, 4 on the outside surfaces of base plates 2, 3 each consisting of a uniaxially stretched film. The stretched films used for the substrates 2, 3 are formed of a uniaxial film having the optical axis inclined by about 45 deg. with the take-up direction. The uniaxial film is manufactured by forming the film of which the optical axis direction is inclined by about 45 deg. with the MD direction by a method consisting in making the ratio of stretching the film in the MD direction and the ratio in the TD direction approximately the same, stretching first one film then stretching another film. |
