Cam drive with a roller tappet

A cam drive with at least one cam, which comprises pre- and/or main cam area, for driving a roller tappet provided with a new type of pre-cam is proposed. At the same time the pre-cam has an acceleration incline, which extends over a fixed rotation angle area (5) of the pre-cam. At less than full load, the roller of the roller tappet on this acceleration incline can adjust to the speed of rotation corresponding to the peripheral speed. The lift (9) of the acceleration incline is greater than the play (8) of the device to be driven and less than the lift (10) which at that moment actually operates the driven device. Owing to the slip-free rolling of the roller in the main cam area, wear of the entire arrangement is reduced (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
