The rail arrangement is used as the tie between the floor of the vehicle and a longitudinally displaceable seat component and comprises a rail which is composed of angle profiles to form a T profile and has an integrated flange, and comprises a rail which embraces the latter in a guiding fashion, is also composed of two profile rods which fit together to form a C-shaped profile cross-section and also has an integrated flange. In order to eliminate the toothed rack which is usually joined as an operating means for the longitudinal displacement, one of the two rails has a series of teeth on a formed-on flange for engagement in a pinion which permits the longitudinal displacement of said rail with respect to the other rail.
