In a broadcaster for spreading material, for example fertiliser or the like, which is mounted on the three-point linkage of a tractor and which consists of a supply container, of a conveyor worm attached to the bottom of the latter and guided upwards over the container and having a discharge, and of at least one centrifugal disc, assigned to this, for distributing the spreading material, in order to achieve large spreading widths and optimise the capacity of the supply container, the latter is closed at the bottom and the drive for the conveyor worm and the centrifugal disc is located in the region of the upper end of the conveyor worm, the drive being connected electrically or hydraulically to the power system of the tractor.
