PURPOSE:To produce a dry ice product having high surface hardness, resistant to sublimation, and suitable for dry ice blast, etc., by humidifying dry ice particles prepared by the compression molding of snow dry ice. CONSTITUTION:Carbon dioxide gas is compressed at a low temperatura, and the obtained liquid carbon dioxide is subjected to the adiabatic expansion to obtain snow dri ice. The snow dry ice is pressed under about <=100kg/cm<2>.G pressure for about 10sec to obtain a block (or plate) dry ice. The obtained dry ice is crushed and pulverized and humidified with about 0.1-5% water e.g. by spraying. The temperature and time for humidification are about 18 deg.C and about 15min, respectively. |
