A detonation signal transmitter for a projectile (1) which penetrates the water surface (4) is intended to be designed for reproducible signal transmission. To this end, it is equipped with a device for detection of the change in the dielectric constant outside the projectile (1) when it passes through the water surface (4); said device preferably comprises a capacity measuring device (11) which is connected to metal parts (7) in the projectile wall (9), which metal parts (7) are electrically insulated from one another. The metal parts (7) are preferably constructed as hollow cylindrical shells which are embedded in a plastic (10) having a dielectric constant which is considerably closer to that of air than to that of water (3). <IMAGE>
