The support element is intended for holding cut flowers having stems without leaves or side shoots in a box. It is provided with openings through which the stems are inserted such that the flower heads are arranged side-by-side on the inner walls of the element and the stems extend from the other sides of these walls. Each element is trough-shaped and has the openings in the two inclined side walls to either side of the longitudinal central plant. The openings may be arranged in outward indentations of the side walls. Each element may consist of two parts separable along a break line . It may consist of vacuum-formable plastic, e.g. polystyrene or PVC.
