PURPOSE:To impart panchromatic spectral sensitivity and superior mechanical strength by using a specified disazo compd. as an org. photoconductor. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer contains a disazo compd. represented by formula ( I ) in which each of X1 and X2 is independently H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, or nitro; each of Y1 and Y2 is independently a group of formulae II and III; each of R1 and R2 is independently H, optionally substd. alkyl, optionally substd. hydrocarbon group, or heterocyclic, and each may link to each other to form a ring. Since this compd. of formula ( I ) panchromatic in the visible region, and highly sensitive also in the longer wavelength region, this photosensitive layer is suitable also for a laser printer. |
