PURPOSE:To reduce the volume of a magnetic head and to reduce disconnection of a coil by forming the coil for recording or reproducing on a core member, which constitutes a magnetic circuit, by the thin film forming technique. CONSTITUTION:With respect to the magnetic head which performs magnetic recording by the electromagnetic conversion effect, a spiral thin film coil 1 is formed on a core member 2 by the sputtering method. This core member 2 is adhered to core members 5 and 6 to form a head core. In this case, an insulating layer 4 and an adhesive layer 3 are interposed between the thin film coil 1 and the core member 2 to protect the thin film coil 1. Thus, the volume of the whole of the head can be reduced to an about half of the capacity of a conventional head, and disconnection or the like of the thin film coil 1 is made difficult. |
