Ventilation device for an electrical generator

A ventilation device is used for improving the cooling of an electrical generator (1), especially an alternator, which is connected to an air-cooled thermal engine. The shaft (2) of the generator (1) is driven via a V-belt (5) with the aid of the thermal engine and bears a cooling turbine (4) for said thermal engine. A cooling airflow which flows around the generator (1) and is then passed to the thermal engine is produced by means of the cooling turbine (4). According to the invention, an air-induction cap (12) is mounted on the side of the generator opposite the turbine (4); the cap (12) has an outer part (15) which projects into an annular flow guide (7), which surrounds the generator (1), in order to divert a part of the cooling airflow and supply it to the generator (1) (Fig. 1).
