Sheets which consist of a support film and are provided thereon with attached adhesive letters, numbers and symbols which are individually detachable and occur in accordance with their alphabetical frequency are so arranged, in order to make optimum use of space, that the adhesive characters lie in each case in lines and columns, in a manner such that the lines and columns are in each case designed to be of equal width and height, adhesive characters of equal width being in each case arranged above and below one another in the individual columns, so that the separating cuts required to separate the adhesive characters are in each case linear, by lines and columns, and are designed to intersect at right angles.
