<p>A fishing sinker launching device (Fig. 1) and a compressed air powered fishing rod (Fig. 2) both use compressed air to launch a bullet-style sinker (14) which consists of a lead body with or without plastic enclosure. Compressed air, stored in a pressure tube (1) with a quick action valve (4) at one end, is supplied from a tyre pump through a tubeless tyre air valve fitting (2). The sinker (14) which carries a fishing line is accelerated inside a launching barrel (5) by the expanding air when the quick action valve (4) is open. Fixtures (15, 16) are provided on the pressure tube (1) of the launching device to allow an ordinary fishing rod to sit parallel to it. The pressure tube functions as the butt of the compressed air powered fishing rod. The launching barrel (5) forms the middle section and a tapered rod (21) parallel to the launching barrel forms the tip of the compressed air powered fishing rod.</p> |
