PURPOSE:To make easy an optical design to arrange a desirable illuminance distribution on a surface to be illuminated, by forming a non-electrode discharge lamp in a sphere, and arranging a portion of the inner wall of a microwave hollow resonator in a reflecting face of a sphere concentric to the discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:Microwaves are lead in a microwave hollow resonator 4, to make a non-electrode discharge lamp 6 radiate, to compose a microwave discharge light source device. In this case, the non-electrode discharge lamp 6 is made into a sphere, and the hollow resonator 4 is formed on a reflecting surface 4a of a concentric sphere to the discharge lamp 6, wings 46 next to the reflecting surface 4a, and a mesh plate 9 to screen microwaves and transmit light. The light reflected by the reflecting surface 4 is transmitted again to the side of the discharge lamp 6 and radiated outside. Therefore, it is possible to approximate the light from the discharge lamp 6 to a point light source by using a lens 11 and the like, and to make easy an optical design. |
