PURPOSE:To restrain surely magnetic particles by complementary effects between a magnetic body, which is provided on the outside of a developer holding member, and a scooping sheet which is brought into contact with the outside surface of the holding member or is not brought into contact with it. CONSTITUTION:In a developer supply vessel 13, an iron piece 18 consisting of magnetic materials is provided in the upstream side of a magnetic blade 15 in the moving direction of a developer holding member 12 and on the outside of the developer holding member 12, and the effect sealing the lower part of the vessel 13 is given by a magnetic brush formed between them. A scooping sheet 19 is so provided that it is brought into contact with the outside surface of the developer holding member 12 or is not brought into contact with it. This scooping sheet 19 seals only the part which cannot be sealed by the magnetic brush. Consequently, it is unnecessary to press the scooping sheet 19 to the developer holding member 12 with a high pressure, and problems which are caused when the scooping sheet 19 is brought into contact with the member 12 with a high pressure are not generated. |
