ROLL BENDER DEVICE FOR ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To enable a work roll to perform bending and to reduce edge drop by applying a force of axial direction to the axial end of work roll and applying a bending force to the work roll by the component of said force. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal force produced by a cylinder 9 is transmitted to work rolls 1 through bearings 6. The bearing 6 having an axis intersecting perpendicularly with a rolling direction and a tapered outer-ring shape, intersects perpendicularly with the axial center line of roll 1 at the rolling-contact surface of the axial end of roll 1. Further, the axial ends of roll 1 are tapered. Therefore the work rolls 1 are provided with a bending force to make the roll bending possible.
