PURPOSE:To prevent cooling at the end of a nozzle tip and to stabilize the operation in the stage of starting casting by discharging an inert gas from the nozzle tip during preheating of a nozzle tip holder to heat the end of the tip. CONSTITUTION:An inert gas is forced into a nozzle tip holder 2 and the inert gas heated in the holder 2 which is heated electrically is discharged from the end of a nozzle tip 3 to heat the tip 3. The cooling at the end of the nozzle tip by the viscous air flow generated around a cooling roll when the cooling roll revolves is prevented by such heating. |
