PURPOSE:To perform satisfactorily gravity welding meeting an attaching error, etc. by detecting an obstruction in front of a weld line by means of a shock switch, detecting the start position for creeping and the start position for jumping and correcting NC information. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic sensors 12, 13 are attached to the top end of a welding torch 11 to detect an welding object 15. A shock switch 14 is further attached to the torch 11 to detect the obstruction in front of the weld line. The shock switch 14 is retreated and reset by a cylinder 19 and the detection of the retreat position and reset position thereof is accomplished by auto switches 20, 21. More specifically, when the shock switch 14 detects an obstruction, the start position for creeping and the start position of jumping of a welding rod are detected in accordance with the signal thereof and the reference IC information is corrected. When the switch 14 operates in the position where there is no obstruction, said operation is judged as an error from the NC information and emergency stop is carried out. |
