PURPOSE:To attain the uniform recording with a device which records bar codes by applying the signal voltage to a recording head containing two flat plate type electrodes and then pressing the head to an ink sheet and an object to be recorded, by reducing the width of an ink layer less than the width of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:Two flat plate type electrodes 2 and 3 are set with an insulated spacer 1 put between both electrodes to constitute a recording head. An ink sheet 5 consists of a base layer and an ink layer 7 and is pressed to a recording head together with a recording paper 8 by a platen roll. Then the signal voltage is impressed between both electrodes 2 and 3, and a current flows to the sheet 5. Then the layer 7 between both electrodes 2 and 3 is fused by the Joule heat generated by the current. Thus the bar codes are transcribed and recorded to the paper 8. If the width (w) of the layer 7 is larger than the width W of electrodes 2 and 3, the current detours around both ends of the electrode. As a result, a recorded bar code pattern has a line having swells at both ends and therefore the ink density is easily reduced at both ends of said pattern line. Therefore the width (w) is set smaller than the width W in order to prevent the defect. |
