The cooling apparatus, especially for electric arc furnaces, has numerous cooling pipes arranged close together with an interroom between them, and having welded-on by-pass caps at the ends, the cooling pipes being united by the by-pass caps into a self-supporting assembly. Roomrs are arranged between the cooling-pipe ends, which are not widened and which are connected to the by-pass caps. The said roomrs have an essentially diabolo shape in a projection on the axis of the cooling pipes. The roomrs are welded flush with the corresponding cooling pipe wall regions. The by-pass caps are also welded with their cap edge to these rooms. <IMAGE> |
