PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent heat resistance and suitable for use in the production of sliding materials for brake, by blending a specified inorg. filler with a polyimide serving as a matrix. CONSTITUTION:At least one inorg. filler selected from among potassium titanate whisker, mineral fiber, asbestos, iron powder, talc, calcium carbonate and siliceous sand is used. 50-5pts.wt. said inorg. filler is blended with 50-95pts.wt. polyimide of the formula (wherein R<1> is a tetravalent org. group; R<2> is a bivalent org. group; n is 10-1,000) and having a logarithmic viscosity of 0.5-10dl/g (in N,N-dimethylformamide at a concn. of 0.5g/dl and at 30 deg.C).
