MANUFACTURE OF METAL MOLDING WITH RESIN PORTION

PURPOSE:To obtain a metal molding with excellent appearance by continuously forming the parting line in straight line as well as preventing the occurrence of weaving motion by a method in which resin in partly bonded to a metal profile in extrusion molds, and the resin is partly extruded in a state of being separated from the metal profile and bonded. CONSTITUTION:A metal profile 2 is thrust into the through hole of extrusion molds 5, and resin is extruded from an extruder. The partical portions 3a and 3b of the resin are bonded to a part of the metal profile 2 inthe molds 5. A resin portion 3c forming the side edge of the resin 3 leading to the resin portion 3a is separated from the profile 2 at the outlet of the molds 5 and extruded toward the profile 2 for bonding by a roller 20 during the period whenthe resin portion 3c is kept in softened state immediately after being extruded in order to form the side edge portion of the resin 3. The parting line is thus shaped into an uniform straight line to obtain excellent appearance.
