PURPOSE:To simply record images with good reproducibility according to image signals by a method in which a sublimable dye is heated to generate the vapors of dye, and the dye vapors are compressed in an enclosed chamber and jetted toward a recording material from a nozzle while controlling the amount of dye vapor to be jetted. CONSTITUTION:Sublimable dyes 33a-33b are heated by a heater 35 for sublimation to generate dye vapors 36a-36d in dye chambers 32a-32d. The dye vapors 36a-36d are forcibly sent into dye vapors concentrating chambers 38a-38d, where the internal pressure is higher than the atmospheric pressure outside of a recording head 31. Since controllers 41a-41d for jetting amount of dye vapor are controlled by color image signals Sa-Sd from a signal source 44, the vapor 36a-36d are jetted only by controlled jetting amounts from nozzles 40a-40d and exactly adhered to a recording material facing for recording. |
