PURPOSE:The titled resin excellent in mechanical and chemical stability, whose particles can stably disperse in an aqueous medium without any surfactant, obtained by polymerizing a specified polymerizable aminosulfonic acid compound with other polymerizable monomers. CONSTITUTION:The titled resin of which the main chain consists of C-C bonds, and which has a structural unit of formula III in the main chain, a glass transition point of -60-100 deg.C and a viscosity (at 25 deg.C) as measured in an emulsion of a nonvolatile matter concentration of 2-65wt% of 10-50,000cP is obtained by polymerizing 0.2-30% at least one polymerizable aminosulfonic acid compound of formula I (wherein R8-10 is H or a 1-6C alkyl, R11 is H or a 1-20C alkyl which may contain any of -SO-, -COO- and -O- in the chain, or a group of formula II, and R12 is a 2-12C alkylene which may be substituted with at least one 1-6C alkyl, or a phenylene which may be substituted with a 1-4C alkyl) with at least one different polymerizable monomer [e.g., (meth)acrylate acid] in an aqueous medium by a two-solution dripping method.
