PURPOSE:To facilitate the terminal work of an optical fiber and improve the reliability of element wire holding by contracting an inner ferrule tip part in an outer ferrule and pressing and holding a wire element from the outer circumference of the primary sheath of an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:After the secondary sheath 5 and a very small part of the primary sheath 6 are removed, optical fiber is inserted into a ferrule 10 and an outer ferrule 13 is clamped to contract the tip part of an inner ferrule 11, thereby the primary sheath 6 and element wire 4 of the fiber core are pressed and held. In this case, projection and recessed parts 16 of the inner ferrule 11 bite into the primary sheath 6 to improve slide stopping effect. The secondary sheath insertion part 23 of the inner ferrule 11 is fixed on the secondary sheath 5 of the optical fiber by charging an adhesive in a hole 15 or pressed against the sheath 5 by compressing and reducing the insertion part 23 in diameter. Thus, the optical fiber terminal work is facilitated and the reliability of element wire holding is improved. |
