PURPOSE:To steadily operate a storage battery even if charge-discharge cycles are repeated by using a mixture of cobalt nitrate containing nickel and nickel nitrate as a positive active material. CONSTITUTION:Cobalt nitrate containing 30-65wt% of nickel is mixed with nickel nitrate. The mixture or mixed solution is pressed or impregnated into a sintered nickel substrate or a spongy nickel foam, then they are heated at 110- 350 deg.C to form a positive plate of alkaline storage battery. By this process, positive active material utilization of the positive plate is increased and a high capacity cobalt zinc battery or cobalt cadmium battery is formed. |
