The heat exchanger of a hot-water boiler is made from sheet metal in the form of a tube (2) of narrow rectangular cross-section which is bent in zig-zag fashion. The heat exchanger is mounted in the combustion chamber so that the straight portions of the zig-zags are supported in grooves (14) in the combustion chamber walls, whilst larger grooves (15) of semi-circular cross-section are formed between the support grooves. - The tube heat exchange walls have knobs (4), passing through the flue gas duct (3) and abutting a wall of opposite zig-zag section. The flue gases flow in countercurrent an across the heat conductive medium. |
