AUTOMATIC TRIMMING LAYOUT SCANNER FOR MAKING PRINTING PLATE

PURPOSE:To allow exposure after trimming and layout to be performed without using a computer with mass-storage memory when an original is read by reading line buffers stored with a trimmed readout image signal according to the layout. CONSTITUTION:When coordinates of corner parts of base paper set on a data tablet 38 are read with a cursor, a controller 37 calculates trimming data and layout data and sets them in address comparators 27-30. Then, a gate 20 is controlled through the comparators 27 and 28 and the trimmed image signal read out of the original on a readout drum 1 is stored in line buffers 31 and 32 which are used alternately at intervals of one scanning line. This readout timing is controlled through the comparator 30 and the subscanning of an exposure head 4 which exposes an exposure drum 2 to a film is controlled through the comparator 29; and exposure after trimming and layout is carried out during original readout scanning without using a computer equipped with mass-storage memory.
