PURPOSE:To provide a compact actuator with improved responsive property by moving a piston valve axially of a piston rod with an electromagnetic force of a solenoid attached in the piston rod for adjusting a damping force. CONSTITUTION:An actuator assembly D for adjusting a damping force is secured fixedly to the lower end of a hollow piston rod 20. The assembly D has a valve body 60, a coil 65 wound around a bobbin 64 and a plunger 62. Oil paths 71, 74 are provided in the valve body 60, and between these paths 71, 74 is interposed the plunger 62. When current is supplied to the coil 65, the plunger 62 is attracted to interrupt communication between the oil paths 71, 74 for adjusting a damping force. Thus, the plunger 62 moving parallel to the axis of the piston rod 20 is driven to directly open and close a valve for bypassing with quick response. |
