PURPOSE:To make electrical, optical and photoconductive characteristics always stable by providing the region where the distributed concn. of carbon atoms increases gradually from the base side toward the photoreceptive layer side to the 1st layer having the 2nd layer region S exhibiting photoconductivity on the 1st layer region G. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive member 100 has a base 101 as a photoconductive member as well as the 1st layer 102 and the 2nd layer 103 provided thereon, thus constituting a photoreceptive layer 104. The 1st layer 102 has the 1st layer region G105 constituted of a-Ge (Si, H, X) and provided on the base and the 2nd layer region S106 constituted of a-Si (H, X). Carbon atoms are incorporated more on the lower surface or/and upper surface side of the layer 102 and the carbon atoms are less incorporated toward the inside of the layer 102. The distributed concn. C of the carbon atoms in the layer thickness direction is continuously changed. Said layer is so formed that the max. value of the distributed concn. exists within 5mu layer thickness from the surface. |
