PURPOSE:To make electrical, optical and photoconductive characteristics always stable by incorporating carbon atoms into the 1st layer having the 2nd layer region S on the 1st layer region G in such a way that the concn. distibution is smooth in the layer thickness direction and that the max. distributed concn. exists in the layer. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive member 100 has a base 101 as a photocnductive member and the 1st layer 102 and the 2nd layer 103 provide thereon, thus constituting a photoreceptive layer 104. The 1st layer 102 has the 1st layer region G105 constituted of a-Ge (Si, H, X) and provided on the base and the 2nd layer region S106 constituted of a-Si (H, X). A layer region C where carbon atoms are incorporated is provided in the layer 102. Such a distribution state of the carbon atoms in which the carbon atoms are distributed relatively at a high concn. on the base side, are distributed at a relatively low concn. at the center and are increased more in the boundary layer region on the free surface side is formed in the layer region. A localized region is provided near the base 101 side or/ and the 2nd layer 103 side. |
