PURPOSE:To make compact an engine by arranging a regenerator on the outercircumference of cylinder with interval then containing heat storage member in the regenerator space while winding around the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Power piston 2 and displacer piston 1 are contained in a cylinder 7 while heater 4, regenerator 5 and cooler 6 are arranged between high and low temperature spaces 9, 10 of cylinder 7. The generator 5 is arranged on the outercircumference of cylinder 7 while heat storage member 8 such as metal wire is contained in the space 11 of regenerator 5. Consequently, the outer diameter of regenerator 5 slightly larger than that of cylinder 7 will be the outer diameter of engine to make compact the engine. Since the heat storage member 8 is wound around the cylinder 7 in the regenerator space 11, only one sheet of metal wire is required to facilitate management of parts while to quicken filling. |
