PURPOSE:To obtain high compensating ability and high compensation precision by compensating propagation distortion generated on a transmission line by using a propagation distortion compensating device which has the opposite characteristics of phasing characteristics in a time area suitable to a digital signal. CONSTITUTION:An input wave is divided by a hybrid circuit 10 into a direct wave with an amplitude 1 which passes through a path 1' and an interference wave with an amplitude which passes through a path 2'. The direct wave propagates as it is and is applied to a hybrid circuit 11. The interference wave propagating through the path 2' is processed by a circuit 12 to have an amplitude beta, by a circuit 13 to obtain time difference tau from the direct wave, and by a circuit 14 to be phi out of phase; and the wave is applied to the hybrid circuit 11, which sums up the direct and interference waves to generate an output wave. In this case, transmission characteristics H (omega) are as shown by an equation I , so a circuit which has transmission characteristics Hc (omega) completely opposite to said characteristics as shown by an equation II is inserted into a receiver to compensate phasing characteristics completely. |
