PURPOSE:To prevent a recording medium from being staggered sideways and enable non-distorted images to be obtained, by a method wherein a recording medium is wound around a platen roller over a fixed angle, and both sides of the medium are clamped respectively by a feeding roller and a bail roller. CONSTITUTION:When the feeding roller 7 is driven to rotate, the recording medium 3 is taken up while being pressed against a roughened surface 2a of the platen roller 2 by the bail roller 8. In this case, the medium 3 is moved while being pressed against the roughened surface 2a of the platen roller 2 over a fixed angle. On the other hand, a thermal ink ribbon 4 is moved skewly against a heating line R of a thermal head 1. In this case, since the contact area of the medium 3 and the roughened surface 2a of the platen roller 2 is large and a large frictional force is obtained, the medium 3 is prevented from being staggered sideways. Accordingly, non-distorted images can be obtained, and the medium can be moved stably. |
