PURPOSE:To make the device small and portable by separating a recording device that irradiates light onto an object to be copied, receives the reflected light and converts to electric signals and records the information and a device that reproduces the record and makes a copy. CONSTITUTION:A transparent bedplate 3 is placed close to an object to be copied on a table 2 on which the object 1 to be copied is placed. A head section 7 having built in light projector 4 that irradiates light onto the object, a light receiver 5 that receives reflected light and a converter 6 that converts received light to electric signals by CCD etc. is installed on the transparent bedplate. The device is further provided with a scanning device consisting of a cord 8 and a roller 9 that reciprocates the head section 7 left and right (front and rear) of the object to be copied manually or electrically, and a recording device 11 having attachable and detachable recording section 10 that records information converted to electric signals by a converter 6 near above-mentioned scanning device.
