PURPOSE:To form a color with uniform density on a molded article, by a method wherein a convex form heat-resistant rubber having a radius of curvature of 0.5-1.0 times of that of a concave surface of an object of transfer is used, and an iron plate is provided with substantially the same shape as the shape of the surface of the rubber. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 6 printed with an image in an ink 5 containing a sublimable dye is placed on a plastic molded article 2 having a concave surface, with the printed surface directed to the article 2. Then, heat and pressure are applied from above by a heated convex form silicone rubber 7, whereby the sublimable dye contained in the ink is transferred to the article 2 through sublimation and melting or sublimation to print a character or a pattern on the molded article 2. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that the rubber 7 has a fixed surface temperature and to fixe the pressure with which the rubber 7 is pressed against the concave surface. |
