PURPOSE:To attain the method generating a pulse with less power consumption and a modulating circuit using the method by giving a delay after the level of an input pulse is shifted, comparing the delay output pulse with the input pulse and generating an output pulse to simplify the constitution. CONSTITUTION:A pulse I (tauin in its width) generated from a comparator (e) is fed to a comparison input of the comparator 1 and also fed to a reference input of the comparator 1 via a level shift element 2 and a delay element 3. The pulse fed to the reference input is leveled up by DELTAV from the pulse I by the level shift element 2 and is delayed by a delay tau by the delay element 3. Thus, a signal outputted from the comparator 1 is a pulse III. The pulse III becomes a pulse frequency modulation output and also is fed to a capacitor discharge circuit (c) as a discharge control pulse to cause discharge of a capacitor (b). |
