PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber article resistant to ozone, heat and oil along with improved low-compressive strain, flexural crack resistance and sliding sealing resistance, by crosslinking, with specific organic peroxide, of a nitrile group- contg. hydrocarbon rubber with low concentration of unsaturated double bond. CONSTITUTION:The objective article can be obtained by crosslinking (A) 100pts. wt. of a nitrile group-contg. hydrocarbon rubber with 5-60wt% of unit derives from unsaturated nitrile and iodine value <=120 (e.g. a rubber made by hydrogenation of butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer rubber) using (B) 0.0025-0.02mol of an organic peroxide of formula (R' is alkyl or phenyl; R'' is alkylene, phenylene or ethynylene; n is 1 or 2) (e.g. 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-mono-(t-butylperoxy)-hexane) to effect curing. This rubber article hasd the number of flexings needed for crack development determined by the de Mattia machine of 10<6> or more.
