PURPOSE:To shorten an access time to a target position by switching a drive motor of a stepping motor in response to the moved distance to the target position. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 6 inputs the optimum step pulse rate data from a non-volatile memory circuit 7 on the basis of the moving distance and direction of a head positioner by information from a previous circuit, not shown, to operate a stepping motor 9, outputs a step pulse rate data shown in Figs. (B) and (C) to drive circuits 8, sequentially controls four drive circuits 8, and drives the motor 9. Fig. (B) shows the case that the number of moving steps is less, and Fig. (C) shows the case that the number of moving steps is more. |
