A washing machine having a tub 3, a laundry drum 4 and an electric motor 5 driving this drum in rotation by means of belts 12 connecting the pulley 11 of this motor and that 9 of this laundry drum, is characterised in that, to obtain a constant tension of belts 12 during its operation, the electric motor 5 is held on the tub 3 at two fastening points 13, 15, located on the same side in respect of the pulley 11 of this motor, by means of an adjustable fastening device 14 secured to this tub 3 in the region of the bearing 7 of the drum and of an adjustable support 16 secured to the wall of this tub 3. <IMAGE>
