PURPOSE:To miniaturize a CRT display, to make its weight ligher and to reduce a desk occupancy ratio by containing a cathode-ray tube and an optical system having a half mirror to display videos displayed on a tube face of a cathode-ray tube as well as scenery at a visual distance in a housing for formation. CONSTITUTION:An eyepiece has a housing 20, where an optical system having a CRT22, lenses 24 and 26 and a half mirror 28 is contained, 30 in the figure shows eyes of an operator, who visually see videos displayed on a tube face of the CRT22 through optical systems 26, 28 and 24. If the display is that for a word processor, an operator operates a keyboard while watching characters displayed on the tube face, or originals on a desk which are not displayed. In this case originals on a desk or a keyboard through a window 20A of the housing 20 are viewed. The size of the CRT22 is set to one inch in terms of screen. Assuming that it is magnified by an optical system to 8-10 times, thereby obtaining 8-10 inch-screen, it becomes equivalent to a standard CRT display.
