Electrophoresis is used for analysing proteins contained in the sera. In the buffer soln. contg. electrode chambers are mounted electrodes, filter paper holders, and filter papers whose one end is dipped in the buffer solns. with appropriate buffer soln. and current supply. Electrophoretic patterns are formed by current application to a sera carrier on the filter papers. Three filter paper holders are arranged at suitable mutual spacing. Each holder supports a filter paper. The sera are arranged in two rows on carrier sections outside a contact with the filter papers. PReferably three electrode chambers are formed in a housing, into each of which is dipped one end of a filter paper to provide contact with the buffer soln. If an inner and outer electrode chamber, separated by a partition is used, the middle filter paper dips with both ends into the soln. in the inner chamber. |
